Why Does My Event Services Provider Need Liability Insurance?

Event services liability insurance covers any damages a member of the public may be awarded as a consequence of injury or damage to them or their belongings caused by the event services provider or their equipment. It also covers legal costs & other expenses to do with defending a claim.

Liability insurance covers the event services provider (in this case, Avalon Entertainment), the venue (even if it's a private home), and YOU in case of an accident caused by their equipment. There is always a chance that someone will trip and fall and seriously get injured. Nowadays, you don’t know if that person is going to turn around and sue you, the person that invited him to your party. Without the liability insurance, there is a chance you will have to pay for those costs.

Some companies carry insurance and some do not. Avalon Entertainment is one that carries insurance that covers both the photo booth and DJ aspects of our business. We also carry Worker's Compensation insurance for our staff.

In addition, many venues are starting to require that event services providers carry insurance in order to work in their building. It is actually possible for a bride to book a venue without really understanding the requirements, and then book a vendor that doesn't meet those requirements, only to have to hire a new company while still being responsible for the initial vendor's retainer.

Avalon Entertainment is not only insured, but also provides a certificate of insurance upon request naming the venue as insured for additional peace of mind, even though the venue is covered without being named.
